Dean Innes honours Forestry's first Indo-Canadian graduate with new ring at age 79

In 1958 Tom Pallan became the first person of Indo-Canadian heritage to graduate from the Forestry program at the University of British Columbia. In March 2011, he was presented with a new Silver Ring by Dean John Innes to replace one that was lost years ago.

Solace Sam-Brew is an international student from Ghana, who completed her MSc at UBC in 2010 and is continuing her studies in the Forestry doctoral program. Her Master’s thesis is entitled, “The development of hollow core composite panels for value added applications” and was completed under the supervision of Dr. Gregory D. Smith.
