Solace Sam-Brew is an international student from Ghana, who completed her MSc at UBC in 2010 and is continuing her studies in the Forestry doctoral program. Her Master's thesis is entitled, "The development of hollow core composite panels for value added applications" and was completed under the supervision of Dr. Gregory
D. Smith.

Mariano Amoroso graduated from the UBC Forestry Doctoral program in 2009. His dissertation addresses a topic critical to his home country of Argentina: the decline of cypress forests in Patagonia. His thesis is entitled, "Stand development patterns as a consequence of the decline in Austrocedrus chilensis forests" and was completed under the supervision of Dr. Bruce Larson.

Canadian Kristina Cockle completed both her BSF (2000) and PhD (2010) at UBC Forestry. Her doctoral dissertation, "Nesting Ecology and Community Structure of Cavity-nesting Birds in the Neotropical Atlantic Forest" was completed under the supervision of Dr. Kathy Martin. Craig Farnden is a Canadian with many years of forestry experience in British Columbia. He obtained his BSF (1985) and Silviculture Diploma (1997) at UBC and returned to complete his PhD in 2010. His dissertation is entitled, "The Development of Regeneration Standards for Sustainable Forest Management" and was completed under the supervision of Dr. Bruce Larson.

Kim Sheldon is a Kiwi-turned-Canadian who completed her MSc in Forestry at UBC in 2010. Her thesis, "Season-specific survival and growth rates of coastal cutthroat trout across a gradient of stream sizes in southern British Columbia" was completed under the supervision of Dr. John Richardson.

Leah Rathbun completed her UBC PhD in Forestry in 2010. Her dissertation, "Growth of British Columbia Coastal Species in Response to Thinning and Fertilization Treatments" was completed under the supervision of Dr. Valerie LeMay. Leah has returned home to the USA to work with the US Forest Service in Colorado.

Ana Elia Ramon Hidalgo is an international student from Spain, who completed her UBC MSc in Forestry in 2010 and is continuing her studies here as a doctoral student. Her Master's thesis is entitled, "Outdoor Recreation Conflict on Trails in Squamish, British Columbia: An Examination of Theoretical Models and Management" and was completed under the co-supervision of Drs Howard Harshaw and Stephen Sheppard.
