As an international applicant, you can choose how you would like to study at the Faculty of Forestry:
If you would like a degree from UBC Forestry, apply as an International Student. You can come to us directly from secondary school (including, for example, Gymnasium, International Baccalaureate or British-Patterned Education) or may transfer to UBC after one or two years at another accredited institution. International Students in the Faculty of Forestry can apply for the Co-op work placements or our exchange programs in the faculty.
If you are already studying forestry or conservation science but would like to come here for one or two semesters, apply as a Visiting Student. This way, you can take courses at UBC to earn credit towards your degree at home. Visiting students may take part in field trips, or spend time in our research forests, although they are not eligible for Co-op or exchange. You should consult with your program advisor in your home country and International Programs in Forestry to approve your selection of courses before you leave for UBC.
If you have already earned a Bachelor’s or equivalent degree, you may wish to consider your options for Graduate study, either at the Master’s or Ph.D. level.
You can also come to UBC Forestry as an Exchange Student if you are enrolled in a program in another institution with a bilateral exchange agreement with UBC Forestry. Contact your international office at your home university to see if you have an exchange agreement with UBC Forestry. You may also check UBC Forestry’s own Exchange Website or UBC’s central Exchange website. If an exchange agreement does not exist, you are always welcome to attend as a visiting student.
