Forestry Student Services Centre
Forestry Undergraduate Student Services houses a group of highly educated, dedicated individuals to help you with a variety of academic, career, and personal issues. The Student Services Centre is located in FSC (Forest Sciences Centre) room 2609. Please scroldown for the street address and direction.

Student Services is open Monday to Friday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. 

Drop-in advising is available from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm weekdays.  Advising appointments can be arranged by email:

Chiara Longhi 
Director of Student Services

Chiara is responsible for providing leadership and strategic direction for the Forestry Undergraduate Student Services team. Her goal is to help to create a positive experience for all Forestry undergraduate students and to support student success, academic and otherwise. She acts as an advocate for students who require special assistance and can provide information about the university's academic policies and resources. If you are facing a medical, emotional, or personal situation that you think may negatively impact your academic performance, please contact Chiara as quickly as possible to discuss your options.
 
Chiara is also involved with recruitment, admissions, student orientations and events, scholarships, course scheduling, student adjudication and appeals, and general student advising.
 
Chiara holds a M.A. in Cultural Geography from University of Pisa, Italy.

 
 


Yuko Ikegami Lee
Student Recruiter/ Advisor 

Yuko’s role is to recruit and advise new undergraduate students from Canada and abroad, and provide support to prospective, incoming, and current students. She also advises all exchange students to and from UBC Forestry. She is a passionate advocate for education and life-long learning.   
 
Her forestry connection started when she translated academic papers written by UBC Forestry professors and other forestry organizations such as Forestry Innovation Investment (FII). She also holds a Western Red Cedar lumber grading certificate.
 
Yuko holds a BFA from Joshibi University of Art and Design, Japan.
 

Geoff Anderson
Forestry Co-op Coordinator

Geoff is the Co-op Coordinator for the Forestry and Conservation undergraduate programs. Geoff can explain the benefits of participating in Co-op as he has been involved in co-op as a student, employer and educator. He can also help you launch your forestry or conservation career. Geoff also works closely with employers; supporting them with their recruitment activities of UBC Forestry students. As well, Geoff provides general academic and career advising to all Forestry undergraduate students.

Sudeh Jahan
Co-op Coordinator and Recruitment Officer, Wood Products Processing 

Sudeh is the Co-operative Education Coordinator and the Recruitment Officer for the Wood Products Processing Program. She can answer your questions about how the Co-op program can enhance your career opportunities as well as your undergraduate learning experience. Students interested in participating in the Co-op program must apply in September of their second year.

Ana Curcin
Student Services Assistant/ Undergraduate Secretary

Ana is your primary contact at the Student Services office. She can help you with any general questions or concerns about your undergraduate studies in Forestry, access cards and making appointments with advisors.
 
Ana is new to the department. Having graduated from the University of Victoria with a Master’s in Sociology, she is excited to be working in a student service environment, helping create a positive and rewarding experience for all students.

Candace is currently on-leave until July 1st, 2012.

This is a long over due dreams come true time-off from work, to travel around BC in a camper.
