The Corporate Responsibility Initiative in Forestry (CRIFor)

The Corporate Responsibility Initiative in Forestry is a group created to coordinate collaborative investigation of Corporate Responsibility (CR) practices and issues in the forest industry.

The group has the overall objective of increasing debate and knowledge in operational, strategic, and governance issues of CR within the forestry sector context. The following chart shows examples of the different topics addressed in each of these three issue areas.

Based in the Faculty of Forestry at the University of British Columbia, the CR Initiative in Forestry concentrates its efforts in research, communication, and extension activities. In the research arena, activities are initially focused on the doctoral research of group members. These projects are the present focus of the communication efforts of the group. Tracking key CR readings, as well as organizing workshops and discussion forums are also part of our activities.
