Adults:

Family characteristics + generic features: small brown beetle, eyes divided into two portions, sides of prothorax with backward pointing projections.

Damage:

Principal Hosts:

Sitka spruce, Douglas-fir, lodgepole pine, western hemlock and Abies species.

Economic Importance:

Usually attacks limbs, although has been reported to damage the seasoned wood of rustic homes in Oregon.
