Site Units of the University of British Columbia Alex Fraser
Research Forest
- In 2002 Dr. Karel Klinka and team identified and reliably mapped detailed
ecosystems on the forest. New site series were identified and advanced
site series identification tools were developed. A "virtual forest"
on CD-ROM links photos of forest communities and the map using a GIS viewer,
and included a series of interpretive maps addressing old growth stands,
stand nutrient status and productivity. The easy-to-read and photo-rich
report is downloadable here. Low
