SIMFOR provides
measures of landscape pattern and projects habitat suitability
in forested ecosystems. A raster-based program, SIMFOR determines
habitat suitability indices and landscape metrics by calculating
the properties of individual raster cells. Integration with
ArcView GIS (Version 3.x with Spatial Analyst extension) allows
SIMFOR to store this information and generate maps that project
landscape elements,
habitat suitability
and attribute
development across the planning area.
