The Timber Enegineering and Applied Mechanics (TEAM) Laboratory was established in 1982 within the Department of Wood Science, Faculty of Forestry, University of British Columbia at Vancouver, B.C., Canada. The laboratory has a management system in place to ensure that its quality of service remains the same whether the service is provided in the laboratory or at field sites. The TEAM Laboratory has also been accredited by the International Accredication Service.

The scope of testing activities in the TEAM Laboratory includes planning testing programs in collaboration with clients regarding receiving, storing, testing and disposal of test materials. The laboratory is responsible for maintaining calibration of test equipment, collecting, analyzing and reporting data to clients. The laboratory also maintains the records of test data including instrument calibration and all associated documents related to the performance of tests undertaken for clients.
